History
The Association of Hydraulic Services Consultants of Australia was founded in NSW in 1974. In 1995, a meeting was held in Perth attended by many of the leading Hydraulic Services Consultants in W.A. It was agreed by all that a WA Chapter of the AHSCA would be developed. In 1996 The WA Chapter was formally incorporated with an official launch held at the WACA on the 14th March 1996. The Chapter was launched by Mr. Robert Welch who was the Australian and NSW President of the AHSCA at that time. Mr. Philip Wright was the inaugural WA Chapter President and a founding member of the chapter. The development of the WA Chapter progressed over many years, culminating in the formation and registration of the National Association in 2002. The National Association has representation from NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia. Since its inception, the WA Chapter has grown in recognition, resulting in acknowledgement of our members by Commonwealth, State and Local Government authorities and other Industry organizations.

Policy
   - Encourage and advance the scientific knowledge and technical skills of all Hydraulic Services Engineering Consultants.
   - Raise awareness of the Hydraulic Services Engineering profession within the building construction industry and develop affiliation with other Industry Groups and organizations.
   - Provide a process for the solutions of professional problems pertaining to Hydraulic Services Design as it affect the profession, community and general public.
     

Vision
   - Facilitate greater cooperation between members of the Association, other professional and Industry related groups, government and statutory authorities.
   - Develop the skills and knowledge of members with the Association.
   - Provide a forum for exchanging technical information pertaining to Hydraulic Services Design.
   - Unify the Hydraulic Services Engineering profession through the National Chapter.

Joint Chapter President Philip J Wright
Name: Joint Chapter President Philip J Wright
Philip was a founding member of the WA chapter and previously served as the WA Chapter President from 1995 till 2001. In 2001 Philip was elected as a Director of AHSCA - National, representing the WA Chapter, a role he still fulfills. In 2006, Philip was elected as Joint Chapter President for the WA Chapter. His duties relate to the liaison and co-ordination with The National Chapter and developing new policies for implementation in all chapters. Phil is the Managing Director for P.J. Wright & Associates Pty. Ltd and has over forty Years experience in Hydraulic Services and Fire Services Design. He is also registered as an Expert Witness specific to Hydraulic and Fire Services matters.

Joint Chapter President Ian Cordingley
Name: Joint Chapter President Ian Cordingley
Ian was a founding member of the AHSCA WA Chapter and he has fulfilled a number of executive positions since formation of the Chapter in 1996. Ian has 30 years experience in hydraulics and fire hydrant and fire hose reel services and was an Associate of CCD Australia in 1999. He remained as Hydraulic Services Section manager when CCD Australia merged with SKM in 2004 . He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the documentation and contract administration of hydraulic and fire hydrant and fire and hose reel services.
             
First Vice President Tony Serek
Name: First Vice President Tony Serek
Tony was a founding member of the WA chapter for for a period of 6 years served as the First Vice President till 2001. In 2001, Tony was elected as the second Director for AHSCA - National. Tony was elected as the second Joint Chapter President for the WA Chapter in 2006. In this role Tony assists the Executive committee in the general day to running of the WA Chapter . Tony has over 20 years experience in the field of Hydraulic Services and Fire Service design and is the Senior Hydraulic Services Engineer at P.J. Wright and Associates Pty. Ltd.

Second Vice President Joseph Tilli
Name: Second Vice President Joseph Tilli
Joseph role as 3rd Vice-President is to liaise with regulatory authorities to keep the members informed of impending and proposed changes to codes, regulations, standards and all other technical issues. Joseph is a Director of Hydraulics Design Australia and has over twenty five years experience in the field of Hydraulic Services and Fire Services Design.

Third Vice President Andrew Cresswell
Name: Third Vice President Andrew Cresswell
Andrew was a founding member of the AHSCA WA Chapter and he has served in the role as 3rd Vice-President since formation of the Chapter in 1996. His role in the Association is to manage all aspects of membership, liaise with members and process new member applications. Andrew is the Managing Director and Principal of Dalton Rodan Pty. Ltd.and has over thirty years experience in the field of Hydraulic Services and Fire Services Design.

Secretary & CPD Officer Michael Jarrad
Name: Secretary & CPD Officer Michael Jarrad
Michael has over 35yrs in the plumbing industry both as a plumber and as a consultant. He has worked his profession both as a tradesman and a Hydraulic Services Consultant in Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia. Michael’s role within the WA Chapter of the AHSCA is to, firstly as secretary, to provide information gathered from Authorities and other associations to all members of the Chapter, and secondly as Continuing Professional Development Officer (CPD) to ensure that members are keep up to date with the latest information, recording each members CPD points tally and co-ordinating functions with other industry related organisations. Michael is also the National President of the Institute of Plumbing Australia. Michael currently works as a Senior Hydraulic Services Designer for Steve Paul and Partners WA

Treasurer Mike Wynne
Name: Treasurer Mike Wynne
Mike owned and operated a successful plumbing and civil contracting business in Perth from 1973 to 2006. In 1982 he qualified as a hydraulic consultant and has been practising for 28 years undertaking many projects in WA. His practical experience and installation know how aids his design approach – hence the motto “Constructive Design.

Seventh Member Barry Rose
Name: Seventh Member Barry Rose
Barry has extensive experience in the Building Services Industry, having worked in the Hydraulic Services Consulting industry for thirty two (32) years. He has interstate and overseas design experience, having been responsible for the design of a number of significant educational institutions projects generally in Queensland and Western Australia. Over the past thirty two (32) years, Barry has been gainfully employed by some of Australia’s leading Consulting Engineering and Hydraulic Services Consulting Practices, which included a number of landmark projects. He currently is employed as a Senior Hydraulics Designer for Sinclair Knight Mertz where he is responsible for overseeing quality of work as well as design, documentation and contract administration on individual projects.
